Here's some extra info for the Geeks who want to get down and dirty with the digital deets:
The cartridge contains 256K (32 Kbytes usable) of SRAM and uses a CR2032 battery clip that has been hand soldered to the board. It makes swapping out the save battery a much easier task, since it removes the need to solder and allows off-the-shelf replacements that don't need to be pre-tabbed. The save battery that is included should be replaced with a fresh name-brand CR2032 cell if you want to get the most life out of a new save in a game you expect to put many hours into, such as an RPG.
Tested for compatibility with the GBA-SP, original GB Advance, GB Color, GB Pocket, and the original GB-DMG models. It is also able to be re-flashed and confirmed to be compatible with the Joey Jr from BennVenn, the GBxCart RW from InsideGadgets, and the GB Operator* by Epilogue.
Systems that use an FPGA such as the Analog Pocket have not been verified to be compatible with the hardware used here. While the mimicking of original hardware is impressive on a technical level, it has proven to not always work with game cartridges in the same way the original handheld consoles do.
* The GB Operator by Epilogue has shown some compatibility troubles when flashing certain modified ROM files. GB-Studio game projects should work as expected. If you experience any issues, reaching out to Epilogue's customer support should allow them to find and fix them in a future firmware update.
** The exact model of flash cart may vary slightly; however, they will all have the same Flash/SRAM allocations and be compatible and tested against the same ROM images.
